MCT's Inspiration Wednesday!

Good morning peeps! I hope you are having a great week! Today is Inspiration Wednesday over at My Creative Time! If your not familiar with this, this is where Emma and the design team make a project from something that inspired us! Your inspiration can come from anywhere!

I took my inspiration from this card HERE! I thought her card was adorable and I wanted to recreate it using the cutie pa-tootie doggy from the Loyal Friends stamp & die set! I just LOVE these little doggy dies! I used the scribble mark from the You Are Fabulous set for my ground. The leaves are from a punch. The sentiment, Leaf it to me is from the Piles of Smiles stamp set. I paired it with a sentiment from, Wow So Many Candles stamp set. I used the Stitched Oval die to stamp the second sentiment on.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a AWESOME day!

Stretch Your Stamps2 Day Nine!

I'm back to share another card I made for the Stretch Your Stamps2 card class I'm taking :) This is the last one for today :) Day 9 & 10 are working with floral builder stamps!

I absolutely LOVED Dawn Woleslagle's card she made! I guess I should back up! I loved all the cards for today's class! They were all so stunning! Dawn's card really caught my eye and I really wanted to try out her technique she shared. Her technique was called sketched outlines and let me just say I stink at it!!! I'm just way to OCD so I wasn't able to just let loose like she did!! BUT.....I didn't give up lol! I used MCT's, Build A Pretty Flower stamp set. I cut around my image just to change it up a bit. I then used a circle from MCT's, Bunch of Fun Circle die set to add my sentiments on. The die cut word Happy and the birthday sentiment are from MCT's, Happy Thought set.

I still like days, 10, 11, Bonus Day, and I skipped day 4! I was hoping to have a project made for each day.  I wanted to have a card made for each day and have them in the gallery before it's closed on Thursday. I'm just running out of time ACK!!! I hope you have enjoyed what I've made so far :) I have a few that I was not completely satisfied with but that's okay they were fun making them :) Thanks for stopping by and I'll see you back here tomorrow for MCT's Inspiration Wednesday!

Stretch Your Stamps2 Day Eight!

Hello! Here again to share my home work for day eight of the Stretch Your Stamps 2 card class :) Day 8 is still working with graphic stamps.

Taheerah shared a card she made using rain drops to form hearts. Since I really don't own any graphic stamps I just recreated using a heart from MCT's Postcard Add-Ons set. I stamped the hearts using Tim Holtz distress inks and water :) The die cut sentiment Smile and the sentiment below it are both from MCT's, Happy Thoughts set. This was such a fun card to make and I like how it came out!

Thanks for looking! Hugs, Leanne

Stretch Your Stamps2 Day 7!

Here is day seven's home work from the Stretch Your Stamps2 card class. Day 7 & 8 are using graphic stamp sets. I don't own any of the kind they were using for their samples so I just had to make do lol!

One of the techniques was the kissing technique! I love it! I'll have to remember this one for sure! The leaf is from Peachy Keen stamp kit September 2012 not sure if it's still available or not. I used MCT's Grainy Wood Background stamp for the kissing technique on my leafs and also for my background. The Hello is from MCT's Piles of Smiles stamp set (masked off the fall).

Thanks for looking! Hugs, Leanne

Stretch Your Cards2 Day Six!

Here is my home work for day six of the Stretch Your Stamps2 card class. This day is also using outline stamps. I'm having a love/hate relationship with this card! I love the technique but just not sure so much of my card design :(

This technique involved water painting and I'm really getting into using my distress inks so it seemed like a fun one to try! I don't own many outline stamps but I found this one from CTMH and decided to use it. The butterfly is from MCT's, Pretty Butterflies & Dragon fly die set. The scallop edge is MCT's, Fun Stitched Edges. The butterfly trail is from MCT's, Fun Paper Airplane die set.

Thanks for looking! Hugs, Leanne

Stretch Your Stamps2 Day 5!

Hi :) Here's my home work for day 5 of the Stretch Your Stamps2 online card class. Day 5 & 6 are showing different techniques using outline stamps. One of the techniques was adding dimension to your image and since I love to paper piece that was the one I chose :)

I used MCT's, Bloom Where You Are Planted stamp set for my card. I stamped the image first on my card base. I then stamped it three more times for the flowers. It may be hard to tell by the photo but the first layer I glued just about flat (left the top left hand petals where they would lift at the tips some). The second time, I cut out the bottom left hand flower and the top right hand flower and added some foam tape to raise them up. The third time I cut out only the bottom right hand flower and again added foam tape :) I colored the stems with my prisma pencils (I haven't used those is in FOREVER!!!) I wanted to add some shadowing around the image and still not overly happy at my results but I put so much time into cutting out the flowers I wasn't about to throw it away hee hee! I stamped the bow onto some pattern paper and cut that out also. The sentiment is from this set too :)

Thanks for looking :) Hugs, Leanne

Stretch Your Stamps2 Day Three!

Hello! I'm buzzing in (get it bees....buzzing ha! I crack myself up!) to share real quick a card I've made! I'm taking the Stretch Your Stamps2 class and this is home work for day three!

Today's class I used a technique that was taught called word art stenciling :) This was fun but also a little challenging lol! I used the beehive die from MCT's Stitched Bees & Beehive dies set for my stencil. I then used the sentiment Bee you! from MCT's Bee Happy Stamp set and stamped it inside the beehive. The little bee's and the sentiment below the beehive is from this stamp set also. I colored the bee's with my copic markers and added some stickles to their wings. The little bee trail that I used is from the set, Fun Paper Airplane die and stamp set. I sponged around with some blue ink and then around the edges using black ink.

Day 3 & 4 was using alphabets and I've still have several other techniques to try but this one caught my eye first! Sorry to make this short! I've got several more cards I will be posting and trying to get most of them done before hubby gets home :)

***BLOG HOP GIVEAWAY***
For our blog hop giveaway, Emma is giving away a $50 gift card to the "My Creative Time" store to ONE LUCKY winner! ALL you have to do is leave a comment on each of our blogs! Hello :) Welcome to our Blog Hop! You should be arriving here from Emily's Blog. To start at the beginning of the hop click HERE :)

For my first card, I found this Heart Flap Card in the Silhouette store and thought it went perfect with the sentiment from the new set, Write On! I wanted to break the sentiment up so I used some tape and stamped the first part on the banner and then the second part underneath the heart. The paper is by Lori Whitlock, called School Days. Here's a look at it from the side....

I used my cricut and the cartridge Create a Friend for this cute little guy :) The apple he is holding is from the new set, Write On. I stamped it and colored it with my copic markers. I then hand cut it out and glued it to his hand.

I used this sentiment for the inside of my card. It is also from the new set, Write On.

For my second card, I wanted to show how you can use this set in ways other than just for school theme projects! The little fish with the birthday hat is another svg file from the Silhouette store. I did sparkle him up (along with the sentiments) using my Stardust Jellyroll pen. I added just a little bit of stickles underneath him too. The bubbles are from the Surf's Up stamp set and I added liquid glass to them. Both sentiments are from the new set, Write On.

Here's a look at it from the side....

I added a Happy Birthday sentiment to the inside but I forgot to take a picture of it :( I also used my corner rounder punch to round the edges. Well, that's it for me! I hope you liked my cards and how I used the Write On stamp set! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a AWESOME weekend!

My Creative Time's Thrifty Thursday!

Good morning peeps! Today is Thrifty Thursday over at My Creative Time! This is when we make a project using our left over's, scraps, or recyclables! I love these challenges because I have lots of things I've held onto just waiting to be used!

A couple of weeks ago I took the Stretch Your Cards2 online class. It was so fun and I highly recommend taking it! I so want to do the watercolor one next! Anyhoo, I have to say I'm pretty stoked about this card! The background was a total mess up from a technique I was trying to do on one of the class days but I held on to it instead of trashing it! I also had a little strip of the background I made on this card (HERE) left. It was enough to die cut the word hello from the set, Speech Bubble Sentiments. I added it to the Stitched Postage Frame die. I was so happy that I was able to make something left out of my boo boo's lol! I loved how it came out!

I guess it is a good thing to hold on to everything! Just when you think why am I keeping that? you have a light bulb moment lol!!! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a AWESOME day!

MCT Made In Minutes Monday

Good morning! I hope you all had a great weekend :) Today is Made in Minutes Monday over at My Creative Time and I have a very quick and easy card to share with you today!!

I have been using my Tim Holtz distress pads to do my water coloring but I had to run into Hobby Lobby last week and broke down and actually bought me a set of water color paints! I was just testing the colors but I actually thought it turned out pretty cool so I turned it into a card! All I did was take different colors and layered them from the bottom up. I then took two of the colors and made paint splatters. I used the word die "you" from the set, Speech Bubble sentiments set. The "color me happy" is from the stamp set, Color Me Happy. This card probably took less than five minutes to make! It's simple and quick hee hee!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a AWESOME day!

Stretch Your Stamps2 Class Day Two!

Hi! I'm absolutely LOVING the Stretch Your Stamps2 class that I'm taking online! I just wish I had more time to play!! Seems like life just keeps getting busier and busier each day here! It's NEVER a dull moment at the Garner residence that's for sure! Anyhoo, I'm back to share with you another card from day two's class! This technique is called the ombre effect and it was so fun to do!!

We are still working with background stamps and I chose another background stamp by Peachy Keen. I used Tim Holtz distress ink in Barn Door and Picked Raspberry for my two colors (stretched them to make three shades). I used the heart from My Creative Time's, Anchor & Heart die set. The Happy and the sentiment inside the heart is also by My Creative Time's, Happy Thoughts set. I did die cut the Happy out four times to give it some thickness. I then raised it up by cutting some small strips from pop dots.

I still have several techniques I haven't gotten to try yet, but I'll be sure to post my projects as I go along! Good thing this class is a work at your own pace or I would be sinking for sure! I'll be keeping my grandson's tonight and most of the day tomorrow so I'm sure I won't get ANY playing time while they are here! That's okay :) They are SO worth every minute I get to spend with them :) Have a AWESOME day!

Stretch Your Stamps Day One

Hi! I'm taking the class Stretch Your Stamps 2! Yesterday was the first day and oh what some awesome techniques they are teaching!! I didn't get to finish up my "homework" till this morning and haven't got started on today's lesson yet. That's the beauty of these classes, it's at your own pace! Which in my case works out GREAT!! I'm slow as Christmas when I make a card hee hee!!

Today's card I used one of the techniques that Kristina shared in her video. We are working with background stamps and this technique is called multilayer emboss resist :) I created this background using Peachy Keen's background stamp, Grandma's Bathroom Floor! I couldn't find it on the site to link it so I'm not sure if this one has been discontinued or not :( I heat embossed it using white embossing powder and then used Tim Holtz inks to water color. The Happy is a die cut from My Creative Time's, Happy Thought's set and the rest of the sentiment is included in there too!  I added clear embossing powder to the Happy part but not quite sure you can tell by the photo. Last I added a few little pearls so it wouldn't feel so naked lol!!

Loving this class! Not sure if I got a "A" for yesterday's lesson though lol!! Maybe a B+ (maybe)! Thanks for stopping by and I'll be sharing more projects as I get them completed! Have a AWESOME day!
Hugs, Leanne

MCT Tag It Tuesday - Photo Inspiration

Good morning! Today is Tag It Tuesday over at My Creative Time! We were asked to create a tag using this PHOTO as our inspiration :)

I decided to use some of the colors in the photo as my inspiration. I started by cutting two tags using the Tag die set. I cut two to add one to the back. For my top layer, I used the Grainy Background and heat embossed it using black embossing powder. I then use some Tim Holtz distress inks and used them as watercolors to finish painting the background. The flowers are from the Flower Petal die set and I also used Tim Holtz ink to color them. I used one of the bee dies from the Stitched Bees & Beehive set and then stamped it using the coordinating stamp from the Bee Happy set. The sentiment is also from the Be Happy set and I stamped it on one of the banners from the Trio Stitched Banner die set. I've added Glimmer Mist to the flowers, bee, and the sentiment to give them some sparkle :)

Sorry this post is going to be super short! I'm up wayyyy past my bed time (if you listen real hard you might even hear my bed calling my name like I can bahahaha) Anyhoo, thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a AWESOME Tuesday :) Hugs, Leanne

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE & let's start spreading the word! :)

Good morning and welcome to day two of sneak peeks!! Today we have some more awesomeness to share with you using three more sets....Geo Borders, Stitched Decorative Banners, & Dream Bigger :)

For my first card, it might be easier to tell you what I DIDN'T do than tell you what all I DID do!!! bahahaha
I got the bright idea I would try some water coloring (which by the way is not as easy as some people make it look!) So for the background, not sure if you can tell BUT it is water colored using Tim Holtz distress ink in two different shades :) I then stamped the Dream Bigger sentiment in the center. I used the cloud dies from the Fly Away With Me die set and randomly placed them on the card. When I got to this point is when things really started to get shaky and it just about wounded up in the trash can lol! I stamped the birds from the Lost At Sea set and didn't realize my card stock had not fully dried and the birds looked wonky :( Soooo I then "tried" to fix them using a fine tip pen and messed them up EVEN more arrrr!!! I was determined at this point that somehow, someway I was going to fix them!! That is why they are all covered up with stickles :) :) :) Since the birds had stickles, the sky needed stickles, then the clouds needed stickles and if ALL of that was all nice and sparkly the sentiment needed to sparkle.....see where I'm going with this EVERYTHING now sparkles lol!!! Then to top it all off, I went to move it after everything dried and got a tad bit of yellow on one of the clouds! I definitely lost my religion on this card just sayin.....Here's a look at it from the side...

On to my second card! I decided to go WAY simple on this one (I made it after the one above and my stress level was way to high to do anything but simple hee hee) Anyhoo, I used the Dream Bigger sentiment again for my focal point. I then used one of the borders from the Geo Border set and stamped it beneath the sentiment. I used the Medium Stitched Scalloped Bow and also stamped it using the same border stamp. Just for fun, I added a little face from the Bee Happy set to the center!

Here's another look at it from the side....

Thanks for stopping by! I'll see ya back here tomorrow with more sneak peeks :) Hugs, Leanne

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE & let's start spreading the word! :)

Good morning all my crafty friends! I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend! Guess what this week is?!!! Yup, it's that time again SNEAK PEEK WEEK!!! Today we will be showcasing three different sets....Grainy Background, Fun Letter Background, & Large Cloud Bubble die! Eeeekkk! I can't pick a favorite of these, I seriously LOVE them all!!

For my first card, I've used the Fun Letter Background and stamped it with black ink. I love how it looks like a chalkboard background! I then took a small strip of brown paper and stamped (using a coordinating brown ink) the Grainy Background for my books to sit on. The books and little apple are a svg file that I found in the Silhouette store. I used one of the little bee faces from the Bee Happy stamp set and gave the little apple a face hee hee. The sentiment is from the Fun Gift Pocket Sentiments stamp set. Here is a side view.......

Now onto my second card :) I've used the Grainy Background stamp again but this time using a different color! I then used the new Large Cloud Bubble die and attached it at the top. The sentiment is from the Live Love Bark stamp set. I found this cute cow also in the Silhouette store. He just cracked me up as soon as I spotted him hee hee!

Here's a look at it from the side....

That's it for me today :) I'll be back again tomorrow with day two sneaks!! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a AWESOME day! Hugs, Leanne

MCT Inspiration Wednesday!

Good morning! I hope all is well in your neck of the woods :) The last few weeks have been busy and I'm sorry for not having anything to share with you until now :( Today is Inspiration Wednesday at My Creative Time and I have a fun beach theme card to share with you! We have been tossing around the idea of "maybe" taking a little weekend trip to the beach! So my inspiration for this card is all the fun things you can find there! Emma's, Surf's Up Stamp set was PERFECT for this card!

I found these super cool sunglasses in the Silhouette Store! After I got it all put together, I added liquid glass to the lens to make them look a little more real :) I used the different words and randomly stamped above the sun glasses using different colors of ink. I also used the sentiment from this same stamp set and stamped it underneath the sunglasses :)

I'm working on next week's release! It's going to be another jaw dropper so be ready hee hee! Can't wait to sneak peeks start :) Thank you all SO much for hanging in with me during my little break time! Have a GREAT day and I'll see you back soon :) BIG Hugs, Leanne
